In light of its 6th birthday, and being out of stock for some while now, I'm happy to announce a remaster and repress of my first album Listen to Formation, Look for the Signs.

Recorded in Lyttelton in 2014 with producer Ben Edwards and longtime band Sam Taylor, Richie Pickard, Joe McCallum and features Anita Clark on track 2.
This album saved me in more ways than one.

I self-released this album in late 2014 with help from a humble crowdfunding campaign and a few generous key donors. It was then re-released in March 2015 on an Australian label called Spunk Records. Now I have the rights back on my own label Slow Time Records.

I owe gratitude to Aaron Curnow for believing in me back then. And also, to Matthew Crawley.

    Pre-order today ~ only 500 copies on heavy-weight 180gm translucent blue vinyl.
    Includes signed print.
Pressed here in New Zealand by Holiday Records.
Due for delivery February 2021. Shipping worldwide.

Please note: shipping costs have been kept as low as possible. Recent price rises in NZ mean shipping prices have increased.

The digital download included with this purchase is the original master. Re-master included only on the vinyl.

Includes unlimited streaming of Listen to Formation, Look for the Signs via the free Bandcamp app, plus high-quality download in MP3, FLAC and more.

Runway 03:13
when i hit the ground in all my glory i will know where i have come from in the shadow of the doubt that meets the morning i have come, i have faced it in the time it took to really understand him i bore witness to who he grew to be i will never know why a good man will go or a bird will fall from the sky that she was made for a heart will beat out of fear of its defeat and the love you left behind will no longer stand to be when i hit the runway in my armour i will know what i am made of in the arms of my daughter comes an answer i have seen what she will know i will never know why a good man will die or a bird will fall from the sky that she was made for a heart will beat out of fear of its defeat and the love you left behind will no longer stand to be when i hit the ground in all my glory i will know where i have come from in the shadow of the doubt that meets the morning i have come i have known

i keep the art separate from the love i always keep the truth separate from my heart if knew how to ride it, i would surely understand that love will grow thicker in search of foreign land who knew - that i was - reaching through name all of the planets and their distance from the sun tell her she was worth it and the only one if i am bound for something - honey wont you know that i will always take the shortest fucking road who knew - that i was - reaching through who knew that time would heal our wounds i've been walking forward only to forget where that i have been and who that i have met if i am bound for something - honey understand that love will grow thicker in search of foreign land who knew - that i was - reaching through who knew that time would heal our wounds

“When I hear a young artist making an album as soulful and rich and self-possessed as ‘Listen To Formation, Look For The Signs’, I feel so thrilled not only for the existence of that record but for all the music they will make over all the years to come”.
